As we approach the middle of Autumn, our thoughts turn to Winter weddings. Spring and Summer are still the most popular months to get married but we want to know why? Is this tradition? Or to do with the possibility of bad weather stopping guests getting to you? (however as folk travel all over Christmas, this doesn't make sense). There are so many reasons to opt for a winter wedding - roaring log fires, candles, fairy lights, snow….no sweaty faces, no melting make up… And apart from a few days around Christmas, Venues and wedding suppliers often offer impressive discounts (not to mention availability). So why not get married in January and February? You would be doing your friends a favour - something to look forward to in those dreary winter months… and saving yourself a fortune in the process!!
So what to do want from a venue in the Winter? You want rich, sumptuous colours, romantic lighting, luxury, warmth, and most definitely glamour! One Wnitehall Place situated on the Thames, is all of those things.
One Whitehall Place weddingThis is so beautifulIf you are planning a last minute wedding, it is not too late - many venues still do have dates left. We know for sure that Kew Gardens in Richmond does. Imagine the beautiful wintery view you'd have?Kew at Night
Outside of London we've chosen the absolutely gorgeous Elmore court in Gloucestershire - the rich jewel colours - rubies, sapphires and deep velvety greens, the roaring log fires, frost covered grounds….
Due to recent cancellations the glorious Spains Hall in Fitchingfield, Essex currently has two available Saturdays in August. If you are planning a wedding in that area, this stunning Elizabethan Hall set in the most beautiful grounds, must be seen!
For couples wanting to enjoy the beautiful Blenheim Palace before the end of spring we are offering a discount on room hire in the Orangery on the few days still available in May. Making the most of the views across The Duke of Marlborough’s private Italian Gardens and beyond, the Orangery provides an elegant reception venue during the daytime and evening. Together with over 2000 acres of stunning “Capability” Brown landscaped park and formal gardens, this is the perfect venue to truly appreciate all that spring has to offer.
